Derivatives from Day One

Exclusively focused on helping institutions trade digital asset derivatives more easily, safely and profitably

Our Story

Kemet’s story begins at the intersection of experience, opportunity and innovation. Informed by experience at the world’s top trading firms and exchanges, our founding team quickly recognized the value of digital asset derivatives and their transformative potential for institutional portfolios. But we were also aware of the significant hurdles to adoption: fragmented liquidity, complex integrations, siloed PnL reporting and inadequate security, to name just a few.

We set out to solve these challenges in a way that would enable institutional trading firms to take full advantage of this emerging asset class. The Kemet platform is the result. Built on robust, flexible technology, our portfolio, execution and risk management tools bring performance, clarity and efficiency to every step of the trade lifecycle.

Whether we’re supporting our clients today or improving our platform for the future, we strive to exceed high standards for latency, reliability and security, and to deliver value with thoughtfulness and speed.

Why the Name “Kemet”?

It’s one of our most frequently asked questions. “Kemet” translates to “black land” – the name the Ancient Egyptians gave their homeland. The rich, dark soil along the banks of the Nile River, made fertile by annual flooding, provided a foundation for agriculture and, over centuries, sustained one of the greatest civilizations in history.
We see this name as reflecting the role of our platform in the digital asset derivatives space: a foundation for progress and prosperity. Similarly, our logo is an intermediate point in the evolution of the letter K from hieroglyphics to the Roman alphabet – just as we serve as a link between institutional finance and the digital asset derivatives ecosystem.
